That diet...

I've been thinking of dieting. You know how it goes, there's a cousin's wedding coming up and I wanna look decent in a saree. I've started out last Monday and the hardest part of it had been giving up on the chocolates and ice-creams. I can even hear those tasty beasts calling me from their spot in the fridge. Damn! I should have eaten them all before embarking on this diet. But it's too late now so I might as well cope with it.

Italian ice-cream (cookies and strawberry) bought at Pereybere.

The wedding's on the 2nd of December if I'm not mistaken, I never seem to be remembering exact dates. A wedding in December's heat, that gotta be crazy! I will have to endure 2 long weeks of deprivation and be done with the wedding ceremony.

Did you dudettes and dudes ever go on a diet? How did it turn out?

Actually, I've already been on a diet... it was for sports, before a competition! ...And it turned out well because the aim of it was to be able to be at my maximum physically on the d-day. And yeah, I think I felt more in shape and hence more relaxed too!

  5. I haven't really tried diets before, unless starving yourself counts as a diet. Ahem, that was baaaad. I only ate sugary stuff when I was really really hungry, other than that, not much. Yes I was skinny and lost a lot of weight, but now my metabolism has kicked me in the butt for messing up with it :$

It's so much better if you do it properly :) I'm cutting up on sugary treats & starting a mostly vegan/raw diet as soon as my exams are over next week. Apparently it does wonders for your skin, mind etc. HAVE to get in shape for summer too!

anyhow, good luck with your diet & show us pics of you in your saree at the wedding ^^

  6. @Bruno, that's very kind of you! But I actually need a diet. :P Just for the sake of feeling good on that wedding day.

@Yashvin, thanks! I'll be needing quite some courage.

@Vali, yeah I know, the metabolism never forgives, especially if you've been depriving your body of the needed amount of calorie. I've been through that too. Those diets work but not for long.
For now I've cut stuff made of sugar too, like chocolates. I'm also trying not to eat rice. I'm taking other things normally. And eating lots of fruits and vegetables. I hope they improve my skin and help me to be more energetic! :D

  8. @Jevin, yeah I know you're a junkfood addict honey! Remember when we had the argument regarding snacks for the halloween party and I went like "homemade is better" and you went like "Doritos is awesome". LOL! I'm glad that I won. :u

  9. Yeah you win. Homemade is indeed better.

About the diet, I think that some point in my life, I will have to deal with my junk food addiction.

  14. There was a time I turned into a vegetarian, I don't know if it can be considered as a diet. I actually felt healthy and... clean. (feels weird saying that). Good luck with the diet. I'm sure you can allow yourself some treats like... once a month xD

  15. @ Nussaibah, once a month? :p I'm not sure I'll be able to hold that long. I'm feeling like giving myself a treat right now! :p

  16. Oh every now and then I go on diet and then go on a food binge! I can never keep up with diets...so I starve myself or skip meals sometimes... :(

  17. @ P.T, my diets are almost always followed by food binges too. I can eat so much after having lost some weight. I should be stopping that, I should be indulging into self-discipline... I should...

  18. I used to think like most people here: diet is not for me and I however I look, the personality is what counts/strikes/seduces. Until earlier this year I started to have some issues concerning my health. This was the turning point: I started to exercise like hell and was fanatic about what I ate. Lost 10 kgs in two months. Now my metabolism seems to have stabilised and - hopefully - my health issues as well. One thing I learned during this period though: sugar is your enemy no. 1 and you don't need it as much as you think.
