It's all about pizzas

This past Saturday I had the best pizza in my whole life. Believe it or not, it was a simple four-cheese pizza, which consisted of a tomato sauce base and the four cheeses were gorgonzola, mozzarella, mascarpone and Parmesan. Jev and I went to a nice little Italian restaurant in Trou aux biches; the place is called Voglia Matta. We shared a large pizza between the two of us and I was totally full after leaving there. I bet that was because of the four cheeses. :p

I can't wait to go to Voglia Matta again and try out some other pizzas or just to stick with the four cheese yet again. Hehe... I'm glad we've finally found a good pizza-maker in the north.

We had previously tried Trattoria at Grand Bay but their "margherita" pizza which consisted of mozzarella and tomato, was not to my taste: I found the crust a little too crunchy plus the topping tasted bland. I don't know how. Perhaps it was not well seasoned.

However, the cheese pizza I have least enjoyed in all my life (despite the "enjoy me" flag) is Pizza Hut's new 3 cheese pizza. This will serve me as a lesson for wanting to have lunch at Pizza Hut!

So dudettes and dudes, what's the best pizza you've had so far? Is there any place you'd like to recommend?

  1. That's one wicked four cheese pizza. I did not know that was the best pizza you ever had. I'm glad you liked it.

And yes the pizzas are great there. They are real Italian ones.

  7. i like pirates pizza. i go there more often than any other pizza place. in mauritius it is dificult to find genuine italiano pizza makers. ingredients are expensive and mauritians very little like the thin crusts pizzas.

  8. Well, I do hate thick dough pizzas, its like having bread with not enough butter in your mouth. Let alone that pizza hut thing. Having worked for an equivalent pizza house when I was a student, I have my reasons for not eating these sorts of pizzas.

Best pizza I had... sorry folks, Turin, Italia, september 2007! :-D

  11. I don't like pizza hut anymore. The service is crap and the pizzas are not yummy at all!

I think the best pizza I had so far in Mauritius was at Luigis. It's an Italian restaurant in Grand-Bay. I usually order their four seasons pizza. Italian thin crust pizza with fresh ingredients. So delicious! You should try Luigis when you are in Grand-Bay.

  12. @ Carrotmadman, you're lucky to be enjoying good home-made pizzas. At home when we try making it, something almost always goes wrong! :p

@ Angele, yeah pizza hut is really crap these days. The last time I went, a waiter was literally stuck to us. And the pizzas had more grease than anything else. :S
We definitely gotta try Luigis next time cause we hangout in Grand Bay almost every weekend.

  15. @ Keli, aah debonairs, forgot it. I had some good pizza times there, especially a few years ago! :p

@ Loo, I sense some reproach there. :p In my defense I'd say that I lost all our pizza pictures when I installed Ubuntu. hihi
