something pathetic

Just finished giving tuitions. I'm so damn tired. Got only about 3 hours of sleep last night. Sniff sniff... Today I've talked about AIDS to my students. That's why I wanted to make a post out of it. To point out that I've realised that most of them didn't know about the ways AIDS is transferred from one person to another and they were actually laughing when I was talking about it.

I'm not criticising them, nor are they to be blamed for finding AIDS funny. Their behaviour just reflects the social environment in which they were brought up. We live in a society (this does not only apply to Mauritius) which has been conditioned not to take ailments seriously. We consider disasters, catastrophes, diseases as being so far out of reach of our peaceful, calm life. But of course, we love to hear tales of someone else's problems but we do not consider getting involved, doing something to eradicate evils.

I don't know why I am talking about this right now at D-3 to my exams nor do I feel that I myself am involved in something constructive about the wiping out of social evils. In a sense I am criticising myself; my lack of passion, my indifference to things that touch me but which I refuse to let under my skin. And here I was criticising NGOs about their lack of organisation. At least they are up to something and I wish them the bast of luck.

We indeed need forces that can put words into actions, ideas into deeds, thoughts into results. This is a post for Godspeed. I guess Godspeed will just have to wait.

Zinnias, a success story!

Let me tell you guys about the zinnia story. For all those who don't know what a zinnia is, it is a flower. It comes in different colors and sizes. I've got pics of them for once!! woohoo!

these are some freshly picked zinnias! I've got a soft spot for the red ones. Hihi. So for those who were wondering what I was up to during those 2 weeks of absence, well, here's part of the answer. I've been gardening. Not the type of gardening that I used to do before (planting grass, weeding, boring). I've been adding colors to my garden.

I've been in fact, experimenting with seeds bought from a popular super duper market found in Grand Bay (I can't be more precise than this ) The brand of the seeds is V*lmor*n, replace the * by "i". (notice the presence of "morin" in the name, hihi)

This is a picture of the zinnias in the vegetable patch (notice the brede giraumon). I'm going to move them to the side garden, approximately there:

Ah blogging at last! My first post of the month! Hihi... Got so many things to say to you guys. Like yeah I got my dog back, 2 weeks ago. I've started revision, I've been abducted by aliens, they've scanned my brain to know how i know about them and why I blog for them. Well well well this was a hell of a fortnight.

Today's my nani's birthday and I wanted to blog to wish her. You've got no idea how much she means to me :)
Anyway happy birthday nanouy.

I'm off for now guys. I've just made a delicious fried rice along with some roasted mutton (hehe as usual). See you people and my nice aliens!!
